Let me first say the location was perfect. Close to the National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, Buckingham Palace, St James Park, Westminter, Parlinment and Big Ben, Horse Guards Parade and Trafalgar Square. THe photos enticed us. The commona areas were as represented; looked great. The room left much to be desired. Barely enough room for a double bed and a desk. Double beds were the only choice so I assume all rooms were of similar size. The Grand at Trafalgar Square was also known as the Club Quarters. Never learned or understood the distinction. Excellent breakfast. Adjacent Pizza restaurant was top notch. Highly recommend it. Would not stay there again unless location was important.

The reception was awful, nobody helped with bags and the staff are unhelpful. There is also no ramp or elevator when you arrive from the street and you need to take or drag your bags on your own. There aren’t even any carts to help yourself.

The rooms are cramped, old, have very little cupboard space. The bathrooms awful (and even scary!) and I just wanted to leave the minute I arrived. I am bewildered at how this can be considered a 4 star hotel.

You have other options in London and this isn’t one of them.
