As soon as you see the city's glaciers you know you are close to arrived and Hotel Tumi is ready for you with its monumental sacro knife "Tumi" at the front door. You will be received with "mate de coca" which you can have any time (is free). I suggest to ask a room near the window so you can delight the hood. Internet is fine. You have warm water at morning, but during afternoon you don't have it (at least I saw it in my experience). Food service is free and the menus are great! They have some spa places but they were not operative in march2019. People who attend is kind. Breakfast is fine (breads with butter a juice and coffee anytime) and helps for altitude adaptation. If you need safe transportation, they know colleagues just front of their hotel. An historic note: The Tumi is from Inca's civilization and In Huaraz, the "Chavin civilization" was before them.

I had stayed at this hotel with my family several times since I yeasty a little kid and each of them had been a pleasure!
The hotel is really nice and comfortable, with everything one needs to have a pleasant stay in the city. My favourite part tho is the restaurant on the ground floor (Last time I went there was last December): the food is just delicious (great breakfast options!) and the service is great. The waiters have been there since many years ago and they always make you feel welcome and give you suggestions or help when asked, specially Sr. Patricio!
It was nice to go back to this hostel after so many years and I will always recommend it!
