The old colonial building in which the hotel is built is truly beautiful. Our room was large, stunning and luxurious. The staff at the hotel is incredible. You won’t find better service anywhere. Excellent dining as well. Very nice breakfast and afternoon tea.

Like most Relais & Chateaux, Inkaterra aspires to a world class luxury experience, and it delivers in every way. The hotel is small, having once been home to Simon Bolivar, and is on an elegant square near the main square but away from the crowds. The décor combines colonial antiques with indigenous furnishings, resulting in a luxurious but also comfortable living room and dining area. You are invited to have the staff light a fire for you and draw a bubble bath, which my wife enjoyed. Her massage was also excellent, which is not always the case in far flung countries without a lot of training. The staff is impeccably well-mannered, and indulged us our practicing Spanish without visibly grimacing. The rooms surround a central courtyard, which is beautifully tended and can be used for outdoor dining. Our room did not have a view, but it was beautifully decorated with a new modern bathroom with tub and shower, which was as large as some hotel rooms. I would recommend this hotel as an ideal choice, and found nothing but kindness and professionalism in a romantic and historic setting.
