I stayed here for the beginning of my Machupicchu Adventure Vacation for the first 3 days to get myself acclimatized to the elevation (3400 m) before continuing my trip. I used the time to walk from the inn (20 minutes) down Av de Sol to the Plaza de Amas (significant because it is where the Spanish proclaimed their conquest of the Incan empire). The Plaza is flanked by 2 RC churches and all sorts of shops and restaurants where you can try different Peruvian favorites. My first night I ate light and had alpaca shish kabob at one of the restaurants.
The illas inn hotel is family-owned and offers peace and quietude after a day's outing. It is clean, quiet and best suited for the traveler that doesn't require pampering and offers a buffet breakfast to get you started on your day's explore for what is offered in the area: walking tours, bus tours, culinary experiences, etc.

Great hotel to stay, blew my expectations. I stayed in room 207,overlooking the patio. So cozy and clean place to stay, excellent location about 10 minutes to Plaza de armas. They have a cute patio where you can unwind after a tour, have a beer and a cigarette, which I did every night. Incredible staff and customer service. I would like to thank Boris and Jose Luis, the owners, they made me feel at home. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and safe. Thank you guys!! In this place you are not just a number, you feel like family. The 2 Johanas, the house keepers are AMAZING, really friendly and polite. If you havent stayed here I seriously recommend illas inn, dont waste your time looking elsewhere. Its a hidden gem. I will be coming back in December, and I will definitely stay here again. AMAZING job guys, keep it up and thank you very much!!
