I stayed with my friend at this hotel for 5 nights. We were with a group tour that was using this hotel for 3 nights and we wanted to extend our stay in order to have more time to visit Tel Aviv. The location of the hotel is great! There are restaurants close by, there is a pharmacy almost right next door, a shopping mall (Dizengoff Center) is a 5 minute walk away (has ATM machines that accept North American cards) - the hotel is about a 20 minute walk to the Carmel market, and you can get to the beach in about 12 minutes. As the name implies, the building is an old movie theatre in the Bauhaus style. Inside the decor brings this theme to life (posters, movie cameras, etc). The standard room we had was quite small and unfortunately felt even smaller because of the continuation of the cinema theme (example: very dark purple wall, 'director' chair that took up too much space, and a huge tripod light which also took up valuable floor space). There was no luggage rack so we had to find a small corner on the floor to place our suitcases. Although the main wall was painted very dark, the curtains were not very opaque and so they did allow the early morning sunlight into the room. There was an ironing board/iron in a small room just down the hall which was handy. The air conditioning and WiFi worked well. The bathroom was basic but had poor lighting and the 'cold' tap water was never cold. The breakfast room downstairs had a great assortment of hot and cold food including many local favourites and nice cappuccino. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. A special mention must be made for the staff at the breakfast dining room as they were all excellent especially Tamar the supervisor who always greeted each guest with a huge smile and made sure everyone is served in a timely fashion and that dishes are continually being refilled at the buffet. So, other than the small issues with our cinema-themed room, we felt that this is a fine centrally located hotel convenient for visiting Tel Aviv.
