We arrived very late to Tel Aviv on a Sunday night, having never been to Israel and feeling tired from a long flight. Yaacov welcomed us not only with a glass of wine but also a bottle of wine was in our room. He had us laughing right away and made us feel so appreciated. The hotel is very artsy; the decor is charming and was exactly what we were looking for- a place to stay that had a local flare without the big hotel feel.
The morning breakfast was delicious and the staff was very accommodating. They went above and beyond to suggest a restaurant to dine at when we inquired. And, they went above and beyond, calling us when they found that we had accidentally left our passports and money in the safe. Ruti had checked us out and when she called, we put our Israeli friend/guide on the phone and arranged to meet us near her hometown since we were already about 40 minutes away. She would not even accept any tip.
Our friend/guide had suggested the Atlas hotel based on our description of the type of place we were looking to stay. I love staying at smaller boutique hotels for this very reason - they just make you feel comfortable and at home.
I would most definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Israel.
