The conveniently located Protea Hotel by Marriott Cape Town North Wharf is an excellent choice for families who need lots of space. The independence of apartment style living and easy access to all of the amenities Cape Town has to a lot to offer. The hotel has one and two bedroom apartments available, as well as three bedroom penthouses. Two bedroom apartments sleep up to five when using the sofa bed. The three bedroom penthouses accommodate up to seven when using the sofa bed. All apartments and penthouses come with fully equipped kitchens. Family amenities include in-room DVD players, cribs, babysitting and an outdoor pool. Guests may dine at the onsite restaurant.

Nice place to stretch out

We were midway through our 3+ week journey in Africa when arrived in Cape Town. We are loyal Marriott customers and found this property on the Marriott website. I am so happy that we found this hotel. We had a very spacious apartment with a King bedroom. It was so nice to spread out and do some much needed laundry in the washer/dryer. I will admit the washer/dryer combo is typical of those found in Europe that can be painfully slow but it washed our clothes beautifully so I was very happy. The hotel is convenient to the Victoria and Albert waterfront area, the convention center, and two of the hop on- hop off red bus stops.There is a very nice breakfast buffet available with made to order egg dishes. The dining room is open for dinner as well which is quite handy. We really liked this place. Another reviewer mentioned a club next to the hotel that can be noisy on the weekend---we were there for five nights including the weekend and never noticed any noise. Our room faced a large square with a well known large hotel opposite us. Perhaps that is a quieter side and you could request it. I never heard any outside noise.

Amazing property and staff

Wow! My 1st time in Capetown and stayed here and will return. From beginning to end the trip was amazing and felt at home thousands of miles away. The staff made the difference for me. Vanessa,Sandy, Maliho,Lelhaam, Rory,Donald and otters were the best. Courteous and they really enjoyed their jobs and that was obvious.
