I stayed at Tierra Viva while traveling to do the Inca Trail hike to Machu Picchu. Just from the ride from the airport, I already knew I made a good choice. I stayed with a friend a couple nights before we left for the hike, but when we got back my friend was sick and had to be hospitalized. I ended up having to extend my stay a few nights to be with her, and the staff at Tierra Viva was so helpful and accommodating as I was navigating the last few days on my own between the hotel and clinic, trying to keep myself fed and rested enough so that I would be able to get her home once she was discharged. Each time they called me a taxi to the clinic they would talk to the driver and confirm the price for me before I left. They asked me how my friend was each time I saw them, and made me feel completely safe and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend and if I’m ever back in Cusco there’s nowhere else i would rather stay!
