The hotel staff was welcoming and did their best to make our stay enjoyable. Special mention to Hans (in charge of the restaurants) who ensured we had a great dinner at the Noble House restaurant and Verouna (Veda restaurant) for her usual warm welcome. The food was simply delicious at both restaurants. Thank you to the respective chefs.
Areas to improve: our bathroom definitely needs an upgrade and would wish that family with small children could be accomodated on ground floors for better convenience.

Good hotel, in remote area of Balaclava (which require you to rent a car to go anywhere outside of the hotel). Rooms are cleaned on daily basis, but quality of cleaning varies from team to team which was quite surprising. Expect local animals to sometimes get into room (especially if you are on ground level) Food is good, have intercontinental, Indian, Chinese sections but almost every day you get the same mix in main restaurant. There are 2 open bars (lobby and main pool) but if you are on second pool you either walk ~300m to the main bar or try to convince guy in restaurant closer to you to make you a drink. Unless you're good with beer and coke handed in bottles. Animations seem to be nearly non existing and animation team to be somewhere but not at the hotel. For me it was a plus, but it also causes that hotel crowd is either combination of senior folks or some families. Evening attractions are limited to guy siting at bar and playing guitar or once-per-week beach "fiesta" which every week is the same. Overall this is good, slow and quiet hotel. Staff is very helpful (Ruscrah at the bar) as well you can have a good cruise in a speed boat with Charles and Jordan to see dolphns and turtles. A fast (but sometimes unstable) wifi is a plus (covering beach as well). Beach itself seems to be man-made and not really mauritius style (i.e. flic and flac/bluebay). Overall hotel should be 3.5 for slow and stable atmosphere that allows you to kick back but if you dont participate in some trips will bore you to death.
Downsides: pissed me off at very beginning where I was blocked ability to check in myself by floor manager and instead of 5 minutes paperwork it took almost 30 minutes to process because I had to sit and wait, which pissed me after 13 hours flight. Staff took sunbeds from penisula and never returned them there. Floor renovation during our stay, in front of our doors, causing lot of talc flying into room. Staff is not performing at same level, few good performers and lot of slackers (i.e. you ask for a coffe, eat your breakfast, 30 minutes later get up to leave and coffee princess floats around with the coffee kettle asking why you are leaving)
