Arrived very late (11pm) at the Paradise Sun only to be greeted by friendly staff waiting up for me with welcome drink. When I checked in my room, I was pleased to see a nice selection of refreshments and drinks – how thoughtful – since all the kitchens were closed.
The hotel is located on a lovely, long beach coupled with lush gardens. As mentioned by others, it’s a rustic hotel – and I mean that in a positive way. There’s a bus stop conveniently located next to the hotel and, for a few rupees you can access many of the destination sites, such as the Valle de Mai Nature Reserve.
Although all the staff were great, I must give a special shout out to John, the entertainment manager, who arranged personalized excursions at very good prices. I mentioned what I had in mind and he arranged a private boat (which I shared with a really nice couple) with a local skipper who took us to various islands. I had an awesome experience – so nice to have the excursion tailored to what you want. For instance, I needed help snorkeling, so they brought along someone to help me – no extra charge, but of course I gave a tip.
Although you’ll options of booking excursions, I recommend checking in with John first ???? for a “local” experience.
As a solo traveler, I felt that staff kept an extra eye out for me and always gave me suggestions and tips on some of the things I wanted do.
It rained off and on with spells of beautiful sunshine.
I highly recommend the hotel and have no hesitations returning.

We absolutely loved it here. The location is superb, right on a really long beach, and the scenery is stunning.
The staff are incredibly friendly and we felt right at home straight away. The rooms are very comfortable and the whole resort is very relaxing. Breakfast and dinner were amazing and the addition of afternoon tea was a nice touch for a late afternoon snack.
The greenery of the resort is incredibly picturesque.
John and his team are always on hand for entertainment and advice. Definitely recommend going to the turtle island and also the sunset cruise. We also got quite into pétanque!
Another good point is that there are some shops about a five minute walk away to go and buy snacks and refreshments. We drink a lot of water so was nice to be able to go and stock up at the nearby shop.
