Overview

In 2017, the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa expanded its water park by $7.1-million and 1 acre, revealing three new waterslides, a lazy river, additional lounge areas, a pool deck and two food trucks. The water park now spans 3 acres and features a total of five swimming pools and five waterslides. It is, without a doubt, the pièce de résistance of this stunning resort in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Other highlights for families include six onsite dining options with kids’ menus (seven if you count in-room dining); access to a beautifully secluded beach; water sports rentals; excursions on the Gulf of Mexico; Camp Hyatt kids’ club; a rock climbing wall; lawn games; tennis; golf; bicycle rentals; fire pits for roasting S’mores; and live entertainment — all situated in a tropical setting amidst coconut trees, mangroves and plenty of green space. The resort also offers a championship golf course and intoxicating spa and salon, where services range from manicures and pedicures to a full “Day of Wellness.”

The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa is a family-friendly destination resort at its finest.

Wonderful Resort

by MarkZ06

We discovered this property back in 2004 Shortly after it opened and have been coming back almost yearly since. In the beginning it was clearly an on Undiscovered gem on Coconut point in Estero . It’s beautiful grounds and Ever improving amenities have resulted in it being a popular resort north of Naples. My wife and I enjoy the impeccable service and great pools and lazy river. They even have a private beach and a shuttle service to and from there. My only criticism is that their mid-level restaurant called Tanglewood, While offering a great breakfast buffet, offers mediocre dinner selections and is in need of a makeover.

Great Experience

by luiss0t0

The helpfulness of the staff was incredible. The facilities exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to have a conference or training event. This was a business trip, but I plan on returning next year for a vacation.

Family Activities

Water Park & Pools
The water park features a total of five pools, four of which are heated. One of the pools is reserved for adults only. There are also five waterslides, four of which have a height requirement (42 or 48 inches). Other pool features include a lazy river (with single and double tubes); hot tub; full-body sunscreen station (fee); towel service; private cabanas (starting at $150 per day); and two food trucks. Poolside food service is also available; simply lift the blue flag on your pool lounger and an attendant will magically appear!

Note: All guests of the resort must wear their pool bracelets when visiting the water park/pools. Bracelets can be obtained at the activities desk across from check-in.

Water Sports and Excursions
The resort's onsite water sports vendor, Awe All Water Excursions, offers rentals for Jet Skis, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. You can also arrange family fishing charters, dolphin cruises and more. Some excursions are available right at the resort, while others depart from the AWE Marina in nearby Naples.

Big Hickory Island
The resort offers shuttle boat services to Big Hickory Island, where you can enjoy a secluded beach; beach chairs are provided. Shuttles depart from the resort's marina (accessible from a short boardwalk) on the 45 of every hour, returning on the 15 of every hour. The first shuttle of the day departs at 9:45 a.m., with the last one returning at 4:15 p.m. Shuttle services are included in the daily resort fee; see Planning & Tips for more information.

Camp Hyatt
The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point offers kids' programming in half- or full-day sessions that include arts and crafts, games and more. This is a nice option for parents who want to make use of the resort's adult-focused offerings, such as the spa and nearby golf course.

Lawn Games
Families will find lawn games throughout the resort, including a bean bag toss, giant version of Connect Four and Ping-Pong.

Bike Rentals
Bike rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and are included in the resort fee. Kids' bikes and seats are available.

Rocking Climbing Wall
The resort has its own rock-climbing wall, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fire Pits
There are several fire pits throughout the resort, where families can roast S'mores at night! Purchase S'mores kits at the Cool Beans snack shop.

Family Dining

The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point offers several dining options, all of which provide kids' menus with a focus on healthy fare.

Tanglewood
Tanglewood is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. We visited for breakfast and found the buffet to be the best bang for a family's breakfast buck; both adult and kids' pricing are available. Lunch and dinner deliver standard favorites, such as soups, salads and sandwiches.

Tarpon Bay is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. It closes briefly each afternoon between 2 and 5:30.

Tarpon Bay
If you like fish, you'll love Tarpon Bay. It offers eight different kinds of ceviche, plus a signature seafood tower that's not to be missed. The atmosphere of this restaurant is best described as "upscale Key West."

Both indoor and outdoor seating (the latter with lake views) are available. Tarpon Bay is open for dinner daily, 5:30 to 10 p.m. On Sundays, a fabulous Champagne brunch is hosted at Tarpon Bay from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Corkscrew
Corkscrew features casual, outdoor dining by the pools, with plenty of shaded seating available. Serving tropical cocktails, craft beers and light fare -- think sandwiches and salads -- it's open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Mangroves
The resort's main bar, Mangroves is closed for renovations until July 2017. When it re-opens, it will feature new furniture, decor and expanded seating.

Belvedere Room
The Belvedere Room is a popular gathering spot -- especially on Saturdays, when live entertainment is hosted from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Families can order cocktails, mocktails, and light bites (from Mangroves, at the top of the stairs) and simply unwind. Service is available between 3 p.m. and midnight, Sunday to Thursday, and 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Cool Beans
You can't walk by Cool Beans without taking a peek inside -- especially when you see the giant candy jars at the front of the store! Cool Beans serves grab-and-go items, including sandwiches, salads, ice cream and Starbucks coffee. It's open until 10 p.m. on weeknights and midnight on weekends.

In-Room Dining
Don't want to leave your room after a busy day at the water park? Relax with room service. In-room dining is offered until 10 p.m. on weeknights and midnight on weekends. Of course, breakfast and lunch are also served.

Planning & Tips

All About the Extras
Resort Fee
The resort charges a daily fee of $30; this covers a welcome drink for two adults upon arrival; Wi-Fi; two bottles of water, refreshed daily; unlimited local and 1-800 phone calls; and access to all of the resorts amenities, from in-room coffee service to the shuttle boat to Big Hickory Island.

Wi-Fi
While standard Wi-Fi is included in the resort fee, you can also upgrade to faster service for $9.99 per day. We didn't need to do so during our stay, though.

Fitness Center
The resort features a small, yet well-equipped fitness center, open 24 hours and accessible with a key card. We especially love the treadmills, which have built-in Wi-Fi and fans!

Pets
Yes, pets are welcome! While they are not permitted in the resort's public areas (restaurants, pools, etc.), up to two dogs weighing a combined 75 pounds or less are welcome per guestroom. Fees apply.

Charging Stations
The eco-conscious resort provides five charging stations for electric vehicles -- three for Teslas and two universal chargers.

Shops
Bonita Springs is popular for its shopping at Coconut Point, an outdoor promenade just five minutes from the hotel, as well as the stores at Miromar Outlets in nearby Estero. And that theme continues into the hotel itself, where you'll find several shops; they include a fine jewelry store (Tiara Jewelry) and boutique (Lamont's Gift Shop), where you can purchase everything from beach cover-ups to souvenirs.

Check-In/Check-Out
Check-in time is 4 p.m., with check-out at 11 a.m. daily. Next to the check-in area, you'll find Kids' Corner -- a little place for children to hang out while parents handle the check-in process.

Parking
Both valet and self-parking are available in a private garage below the resort. Valet parking is $25 per day.

The Art of Smart Timing
Because the resort offers 82,500 square feet of space, it buzzes with activity year-round. It slows a bit in July, August and September, and rates are lowest during this time.

Getting There
Southwest Florida International Airport is just 20 minutes from the resort. The resort does not provide shuttle services to the airport, but will assist with transport arrangements if needed. The best way to get to the resort is via Uber or a rental vehicle.

Getting Around
The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa provides complimentary shuttle services to Coconut Point for shopping. You'll want a rental car to explore other areas on your own.

For Mom and Dad
Stillwater Spa
Stillwater Spa offers 18 relaxing treatment rooms. It also features steam rooms, saunas and a Watsu pool, where you can sip Champagne after a relaxing massage, wrap or facial (or all three). Be sure to purchase one of the spa's signature, mango-scented candles on your way out!

Golf and Tennis
Take the resort's shuttle to Raptor Bay Golf Club, located across the street. It's a par-71, championship track, with golf clinics available for those who want to learn. Kids are welcome! There are also two clay tennis courts at Raptor Bay Golf Club, and equipment is available.
