I took the long way home from Phoenix to Colorado Springs, and T or C is right about half way. I booked the night at Comfort Inns & Suites. It was $81 for the night including all of the fees and taxes. This is about $10 less than I spend at a Quality Inns & Suites room. The rooms are similar, but this Comfort isa cut above most Quality Inns.
Everything about this place is clean and comfortable. The cleaning staff is to be commended, as the room was spotless and well maintained (except the bathroom faucet leaked onto the sink top, but that’s a maintenance thing).
The room includes a couch and coffee table, a flat TV on a swivel, fridge, coffee maker with coffee and tea, microwave, an iron, and breakfast buffet in the morning. I didn’t get up for the breakfast though.
This hotel is right off the interstate on a small intersection with restaurants, fast food, gas stations, and a Walmart next to it. The Walmart is the only one I’ve ever seen with covered parking for every space in the huge lot! The Comfort Inn shares a lot with a Denny’s. It’s rather convenient.
The hotel is somewhat secure. The central entrance where the elevator is is not working, so it is open to anyone. Other than that, this hotel is very nice. I would recommend spending the extra money to stay in a big cozy room with all of the comforts rather than saving a few dollars to stay at one of the numbered motels (6&8) that gives you nothing but a bed and bathroom.

The location is great. It is right between a Denny's and McDonalds. So if you have a couple of beers and need a midnight snack, it's a 30 foot walk in either direction for food. Staff was great. When we checked in it was prompt and the lady at the desk was friendly. Everything was quick and efficient. She answered my question as to where the room was, closest one of the outside doors to use to go directly to our room, etc. We got in to the room and it was quite clean. The beds seemed VERY low to the ground compared to the headboards (which were affixed to the walls). This didn't seem like a big deal. The bedspreads were just like some that I had on my bed in the late 70's. Except these had cigarette burn holes in them (so obviously these are old, since this is a non smoking motel). But they were clean Overall it seemed like a nice, if rather worn and plain room. Well, that is where the nice things to say end. The walls must be made of paper. The people right next to us I could hear talking on their cell phones at all hours. I was awakened at 3:35 AM by the man talking to someone. He used speaker phone and I could even hear the person on the other end. Then I got awakened by him having a conversation with someone about who they subpoenaed, and who didn't get one yet. As for the floor above us? Not only could I hear the people in the room directly above (I think they were lodging all of Barnum and Bailey's animals from the thumping ALL NIGHT!), but for a few rooms up and down, and the hall. PLUS, when they used the shower or tub the noise was HORRENDOUS. It sounded like one was inside a water tank with running water, and the water going down the drain sounded like it was literally running down the walls. Then, just for a little more noise to the mix, every time anyone opened their doors or closed them for several lengths up or down our hall, our door rattled. Not a little rattle. Like someone was trying to break in and shaking the door type rattle. Now, the bed height? I don't know if there wasn't box springs, or if it was some kind of funky mattress, or what, but that was like laying on a bed of crushed rock. Lumpy, LOUD creaky, and uncomfortable as could be. Now let's talk about the air conditioner - it worked. Kind of. You had to play with it to get it to start. Then, when it was running, it would start making awful noises. I thought someone had parked a diesel truck outside our window and was revving the motor. No, it was the cooler. So, couldn't run that and sleep. Luckily it cools down at night. Then, just as a side note, there is a "Guide to Services" of things the motel provides on the table.
So, I read through it while there. My laptop would NOT connect to their internet, and I was not going to disable all my security features to find out which one was blocking their "redirect" that is required to accept their "terms and conditions" to connect. But, according to their book they have free loaner data cables at the desk. When my wife went to the desk to get one, the girl at the desk had no idea what she was talking about. So, obviously, what they say they will do, and what they will actually do are two different things. We had booked 3 nights and left in the middle of night 2. There was no way we could STAND to be in that place another night. If you have a choice, I recommend ANY other place than this. There are several "car mall" type places in T or C that are great. In your car under a bridge would be preferable to this place.
