Located in the French Quarter, the Olivier House Hotel is close to Bourbon Street, dining, shopping, historic and cultural sites, and is five blocks from the streetcar stop. The hotel has free Wi-Fi, two open-air courtyards, and an outdoor pool.
For accommodations, families will particularly like the two-story house with two king beds, a living area and a full kitchen, the two-bedroom suites with a sleeper sofa and two full bathrooms, the one-bedroom suites with a sitting area, and the petite two-bedroom suites with a wet bar. All rooms have refrigerators.

If you're looking for a nice historical place to stay, because you want to visit but still want to rest at the end of the day, this is the place for you. If you're looking to party hard, you should look somewhere else.
It's in the middle of the French quarter but it's a nice alcove to rest and find back your peace after a day or night out. Plenty of shops and restaurants around, you have everything at a walking distance.
There's always someone at the desk 24/7. Every staff member was extremely helpful and full of attentions, they know very well the city and can recommend you things to do.
There's a snack bar, where you can get tea, coffee and hot chocolate + a few snacks there, as well as fresh bottles of water, in the cozy common room. These days, this big room is under renovation in order to have a wheelchair accessible bathroom and I find it quite thoughtful. If you're lucky, you can get to pet the cat that often takes a nap on the seats.
This Victorian hotel is historical and charming. Yes, it's not your typical well lit white plastic hotel, au contraire, it has a bit of Phantom Manor in it but in a lovely way. There is maintenance work constantly, this kind of place requires a certain amount of resources to keep it going.
The room was amazing, hardwood floors and shower, it was way bigger than expected. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. TV, AC and fan are pretty classic in New Orleans but we were nicely surprised by the coffee machine (with free coffee), microwave and fridge in our room.
Everything was clean and nice, housekeeping staff was very polite and respectful.
The only downside is that it's old so you can hear people in the corridors or talking loudly in their rooms. Same for the windows, they are old so ours couldn't stay open or open at all and the noise from the party in the French corner was still coming through a bit. But you have a white noise device next to your bed, in order to fall asleep with the sound of the ocean for example.
We had a lovely stay and we would gladly come back anytime! (mostly to pet the cat)

This hotel is not one of the cookie cutter chain hotels. You get a full New Orleans feeling. Old hotel, beautiful antique furnishings, awesome court yards with lush greenery. If you want glitz and shine stay somewhere else. We stayed in petite maison. 2 bedrooms and full bath up stairs. Downstairs had a full kitchen, dining and living room., also a half bath. It is like having your own apartment in the quarter. Don't think I will ever stay anywhere else. Staff is excellent. Loved the lobby cat Raj. Very sweet. Do yourself a favor and stay here. It is totally unique and totally new orleans. Can't wait to go back! There is no bar or restaurant in the hotel but Bourbon St. Is just a block away.
