My family and I stayed here for a few nights before heading off on a cruise. The room was of adequate size and the beds were incredibly comfy! The courtyard was a nice little area but wow the pool was cold! The complimentary breakfast was very good! Nice choices which changed each day (my children LOVED that they could make their own waffles especially when one of the lovely ladies showed them how to make them into choc chip waffles!!!) The only downside of this hotel is that they don't do any other meals. We felt very uncomfortable walking with our children in the evening to try and get food (that wasn't pizza!)
It was very easy walking to the river, Jackson Square, Bourbon St ect and of course Louis Armstrong park just across the street!
I probably would use this hotel again but maybe without the children.

As anyone can tell you, the French Quarter is fantastic but it can be a little tiring. It is essential to have an oasis of peace to recharge and this is where this property is outstanding.
The hotel is period sympathetic and you immediately feel part of the Quarter. The exposed old red bricks, the beautiful internal courtyard, wooden balustrade balconies, and the wonderful use of rich, dark wood for the interior areas all combine to create that old world feel.
Despite being a resort of calm, it is only 5-7 minutes casual stroll from the heart of Bourbon Street and all the action you could ever want.
Like any hotel, it is the staff that make the atmosphere that compliments the environment and the staff here, without exception are fantastic. Always cheerful and always helpful. I must make mention of Lawrentay at the Front Desk (he wanted to be named first to to rib Ty) and Ty the barman "extraordinaire," both of whom made our stay one to remember - thanks guys.
How many times has the hotel manager made a special point to inquire regarding your stay, "Stanley," at this property did just that. The staff here genuinely enjoy their workplace, and it shows.
We have spent the last 8 weeks touring the eastern seaboard and this property is one of only two that offered guests china crockery and metal eating utensils for use with meals (and that includes high end properties). I hate paper plates and plastic knives and forks - well done guys, your guests appreciate the extra effort for take!
I could have stayed forever. Wonderful property, great rooms and great location. Very highly recommended.
