The four-floor, 130 room Holiday Inn Express Hotel Suites Mesquite sits on a hilltop that provides the best views of scenic Mesquite. Ideally located across the street from the Falcon Ridge Golf Course, and minutes away from seven championship golf courses, and a bonus, just above a major shopping center.
All rooms are 100 percent smoke free and come standard with work desk. 32-inch LCD TV, free Wi-Fi, cable TV, multi-line phone, free local calls, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, shower/tub combination, hair dryer, iron/ironing board, blackout curtains, A/C and daily housekeeping. The hotel has an outdoor pool and whirlpool and also an onsite gym. To top it off, complimentary breakfast for all guests.

I called at 3:10PM to make a same day reservation at the Holiday Inn in Mesquite, NV on Nov 9th for my husband and his friend who are on the road. I was told by the reservation clerk that they had two rooms - I said I will call back after I check with my husband (who was on the road with spotty cell service), The reservation clerk said they were very busy and she encouraged me to HOLD the rooms with my credit card and my husband can use his card when he checks in. I said fine, that I would check with my husband and call back right away if they didn't want it. The clerk did not mention that I would be subject to a penalty fee if they canceled right away. After I hung up,my husband called at 3:15pm, and said they found a room in Boulder City, I called back immediately to the reservation line to cancel it and was told that I would be charged for one of the rooms since it was same day cancellation. Even thought the reservation was only in effect for FIVE MINUTES. The penalty is $161. I was NOT TOLD when I put the rooms on hold that there would be a fee. I have talked to several clerks, front desk person and guest relations. Simone at reservations said the hotel is not willing to wave the penalty. Why? It is punitive and WRONG and UNFAIR! Update: my credit card shows TWO pending transactions of $191.13

For what we paid, this hotel was not worth it. We checked in early, not realizing we had just crossed from Mountain time into Pacific Time. So at around 2:00 pm the front desk clerk basically ignored us when we walked in, as she was busy talking to a co-worker. It wasn't clear what kind of room would be available when we made our on-line reservation, so we decided to see if a king bed was available. We were given one on the 4th floor - big mistake because this is a big hotel, but there is only one - very slooow elevator. Mattress quality was poor, and sheets were very mediocre quality - i.e. polyester.
On the bright side, which almost made up for the high price: it's a family friendly place with a good atmosphere and an excellent breakfast.
