Overview

This all-suites hotel is located across the street from the University of Memphis and serves up many bells-and-whistles without the sticker shock. The spacious suites have a bedroom, a flat-screen TV, a living room, free Wi-Fi, a microwave, mini-fridge and a Keurig coffee system. Kids 19 and under stay free with an adult. An onsite restaurant and bar are available and kids 12 and under dine at no charge. Parking is complimentary. The property has an airport shuttle that takes guests in a three-mile radius. The hotel doesn’t have a pool, but guests can use the University’s indoor pool for a per person fee.

Holiday Inn University of Memphis is 11.6-miles to Graceland Mansion, 7-miles to visit the famous Peabody Hotel ducks, 7.2-miles to Downtown Memphis, 4.7-miles to the Memphis zoo, 7.2-miles to the Orpheum Theater Memphis (free summer movies), the 1.4-miles to the Pink Palace and Planetarium, 1.9-miles to the Big Back Yard, 2.2-miles to the Children’s Museum of Memphis, 8.9-miles to Mud Island River Park and 7.3-miles to Huey’s Downtown (kid-restaurant).

I am a Spire member with IHG, checking into hotel , at 3:00 was told that rooms were not available, had to wait 15 minutes. Then asked if the room met my profile, was told no, not available for upper floor, only first floor but assured quiet. Got to my room , after a long trip, tried to take a nap, and landscaper with blower outside my window for at least 15 minutes! Then wanted to watch something on HBO, only adds for Dish Network, called front desk, sent someone who got information that sometimes it works sometimes it does not. Worst attention by an IHG Hotel inn 15 years of being happy with your hotels. Very disattisfied, would not recommend this hotel to anyone, false advertising etc!

Just OK

OK. Overpriced. Beds are doubles in double rooms. Key stopped working on 3rd day-one of my pet peeves. Found a garment in drawer that was not ours on arrival. No toilet paper in room and took 45 minutes to get some. Room service and housekeeping were both a plus during our stay. Not terribly convenient to any place and “student” staff needs some grooming.
