Overview
by Michael Blanding
On the outskirts of Lincoln and at the foot of Loon Mountain, this authentic mountain lodge is built for a family ski vacation. Rooms are spacious and well-maintained, many with views of the mountain. Most include two double beds, as well as a flat-screen TV; some also have a refrigerator, table and chairs, and a private balcony with a view of the slopes. The largest room is a family suite with an extra sleep sofa, a kitchenette with microwave and toaster oven (though no range) and a Playstation2.
In addition, the lodge has an indoor pool, as well as a game room and ping-pong table; and an outdoor children’s playground. During the summer, the lodge also has two outdoor fire pits (with obligatory S’more kits) and barbecue grills for use of the guests. Year-round, it also has two in-house restaurants; a casual dining spot as well as a family-friendly pub.

There was definitely street noise starting around 7am. The room was clean but our bed was terrible. The office staff super nice but couldn't help to rectify the problem , there was no other rooms that were vacant and their handyman was not due in till the next day. Although the shower was very clean my husband complained of how low the shower head was to rinse off shampoo. Have to say that the pub next door had decent food but I think next time I would rather stay off main road.

We were concerned about a sports bar right by our room, but had no noise from them at all. Friendly and informative front desk personnel and nearby restaurants--walk to Common Man, Black Mountain Burger, Gelato store and more. Other eateries a short drive away. Right on the scenic Kancamagus highway and a short drive to Franconia Notch State Park, Loon or Cannon mountains. Road noise dies down pretty early and school kids walk by on their way to the elementary school down the street.
