In keeping with the quirky nature of this small desert town, El Cosmico is a fun collection of vintage trailers, safari tents, Sioux-style tepees, and yurts. A large family will have to divide up between the accommodation of choice. Most of the selections contain comfy queen beds, electricity, lounge chairs, and even kitchenettes. Most of them share an exceptionally clean outdoor bathhouse. It’s a fun place to stay, with a real community feeling as guests also share a hammock grove, an outdoor kitchen and dining area, a community lounge, and a reading room. There is free Wi-Fi for guests as well.
El Cosmico is located on the southern edge of downtown Marfa. You’re only a few minutes’ walk from restaurants and grocery stores. Most of the town’s art galleries and public art installations are also within walking distance. When you need a break from the art, there’s a lot of desert to explore by car, on foot, or even via glider with a local tour guide. Twenty miles north of town is one of the last examples of an old west Army fort, the well-preserved Fort Davis National Historic Site. While you’re there, stop in at the nearby Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center and Botanical Gardens before heading back to Marfa for dinner in your tepee. Your family will be talking about the unusual group of tents, trailers, and tepees of El Cosmico for a long time after your vacation to West Texas is over.

Ciobolo Creek Ranch near Marfa, Texas is a true grit example of how the west was won. Filled with original paintings, sculptures, and musings at every turn you’ll find all the answers you have been looking for beneath the noise of the hectic life you had left behind. However you decide to burn daylight at the ranch; rather you are a history buff, professional photographer or nature hiker the knowledgeable activities staff will encourage you to join in to explore! When the dust settles from the day's excursions you will enjoy ranch-style dining on rustic farm tables in the hacienda where meeting new friends is inevitable! The southwestern foods are authentically prepared and the wines list was surprisingly well rounded! The service staff is very friendly! Olivier the GM is the perfect host!

My wife and i have been to Cibolo Creek Ranch many times. The last time was in 2013. Each time we go we are awe struck by many unique features of The Ranch. Each time we go were are impressed by the improvements since the last visit. There is soooooo much eye candy for the senses. I cannot do it justice with my description. YOU MUST SEE THIS PLACE for yourself. Bring a friend its a romantic place.
