This island (now called Serenity Island) was our last stop before going home to frigid Canada ????????. What a treat! The staff was sooo accommodating. Island is laid back, beautiful, food was good. Accommodations were great, wifi was excellent, Smart TV, beds were comfortable. Snorkeling heaven!! Need I say more. Must visit.
The staff are number one in my books.

We travelled to Fiji in September 2017 - sorry about the delay. Stayed at The Warwick for a week and then a few days on Bounty (now Serenity Island, I believe).

The reports are kinda right, in that the resort was a bit aged in September 2017. But the room we had was good (plain, but clean and comfortable). Some other aspects of the island were noticeably aged. The meals were good (compared to a previous experience on a different island, where I found the meals bland and limited) with a minimum of 6 options and it was tasty. Certainly no a la carte, but hey ... you fussy champagne drinkers on a beer budgets ... it was a tasty smorgasboard meal plan for goodness sake on a Fijian Island (where they have to ship everything in)!

The island staff were a bit down when we first arrived - not the usual singing and "BULA" greeting mob. We found out from a Fijian friend that the long term owner / manager had left and the changes were leaving the local staff a bit 'left out and cold'. There was also a film crew shooting a Bollywood movie over a couple of days - they 'took over the pool and bar', and I found the film crew be a bit disrespectful to the local Fijian staff as well.

Overall we found the visit enjoyable. Tabuna (spell?) the aircon mechanic was a good host and we had a couple of chats and a kava session. We struck up a friendship in the 5 days I was there. My group got lucky with a coconut climbing exhibition on the last day.

I took my baby (21 yo daughter), and travelled with my partner and her two teenagers. I reflect back on those few days, taking an extended walk around the small island with my partner and my baby girl (yes, the 21 yo). It was very enjoyable for those few days - no phone, internet, TV ... nothing but white sand, bar, chats, regular nana naps, eating and the occasional snorkelling event.

I would like to go back and mingle with the staff. When you show some respect and courtesy the true locals warm to you. I wouldn't mind checking out the improvements (noted from other posts).
