This beautiful log home is located on the Seward Highway, about 25 miles outside of Anchorage. It’s a great place to stay for a few nights if you’re exploring the area before heading down into the Kenai Peninsula. The B&B’s Scissors Suite is ideal for a large family. With two queen beds and two twin beds in the bedroom, and two more twin beds in the sitting room, a family of eight will be more than comfortable. The suite features exposed log beams, leather couches and floor-to-ceiling picture windows looking out over the water. At the back of the suite is a private balcony with views of Indian Mountain. A free hearty breakfast includes genuine sourdough pancakes with birch syrup and wild berry jams, grits and eggs, cheese omelets, red salmon lox and cream cheese with locally made bagels and homemade biscuits. Other amenities include free Wi-Fi and 8 acres of landscaped grounds to enjoy.
The Turnagain View B&B is just off the highway, a half-hour outside of Anchorage on the road to the popular Kenai Peninsula. It’s 36 miles from the port town of Whittier, while the town of Seward, at the end of the highway, is a further 100 miles. You’ll find several kid-friendly restaurants and coffee shops within a mile of the B&B, including a popular BBQ place. Kids will love panning for gold at the Indian Valley Mine, which is literally 50 yards from the front door of your B&B. There are several moderate hiking trails within easy driving distance, including the Flattop Mountain Trail, where you can get birds-eye views of Anchorage and the surrounding mountains. With its convenient location and huge family-friendly rooms, the Turnagain View B&B is a great choice for your vacation to Alaska.

The part of our Alaska trip we looked forward to the most was staying at this lodge. Unfortunately, Arlene made a mistake with our booking and we found out just the day before our trip. Now we are in a run-of-the-mill hotel. Thanks, Arlene for disappointing us all. You said it was partly your fault; no, it was 100% your fault. I made it clear what days I needed, and it seems like people arriving by plane at 2am is common enough in Anchorage that you should be used to scheduling your guests. Get a better calendar.

We stayed at this beautiful Lodge B&B for 2 amazing nights 06/14/19 & 06/15/19 we had a late check out of the 16th and Arlene and Roger had no problem with us staying there the extra time we needed as it turned out our flights were delayed and we wound up staying till 7pm at night. The views are extraordinary, breathtaking and the owners treated us like family never did we feel like we were just boarders. It was special to be there for Father's Day and family and relatives came over for breakfast it was awesome. Would highly recommend this Lodge and they also have a beautiful shop and they will show you how to Pan for Gold.
