The place has really big rooms that are nicely furnished. Nice big bathrooms that were well maintained. Adequate kitchenette if you want to buy food to make for breakfast and lunch. Full size fridge in the room. Big TVs in the rooms.
Location is great if catching a show or game at the Garden. Easy walking distance to many attractions.
Minor gripes - no shampoo in the room, didn’t get any the second day after the maid was in. Luckily I had some from a previous trip. For a hotel like this, that is a poor oversight. There was no trash can in the bathroom, which was just odd. We got two coffee pods for the cappuccino maker. No real coffee maker in the room. We ordered a coffee for breakfast and it came as a one cup pot. You’re better off going to a nearby Starbucks for coffee.
Room service breakfast was good (but seriously they need to up their coffee service).
I’d stay here again.

The Marmara is my new favorite home away from home!
The lobby is amazing! When you walk inside- you know you are walking into an elegant but not stuffy boutique hotel. It is understated, tasteful, and modern. The interior design elements chosen for the lobby are so memorable- from the glass entryway, to the modern bronze statues, to the flying bird installation to the sleek sofas. The restaurant and bar in the lobby don’t overrun the lobby- it isn’t a party atmosphere- it is a sophisticated elegant atmosphere you can be comfortable to have a meal or a drink, wait for friends or just enjoy the decor.
The staff is very friendly. The restaurant is very willing to work with any dietary restrictions you may have and make modifications to the dishes as they are able. The front desk staff seems genuinely happy to be working here and greets you cheerily with a smile, and with repeat visits, they make you feel like you have just returned home.
Im obsessed with our room- so much so that its our 2nd time in the same room! My daughter, my luggage, and I have plenty of personal space! I love that we are not on top of each other! It is very difficult to find hotel rooms in Manhattan that are not the size of shoe boxes and do not show the wear and tear on the property. The Marmara is a standout on this point. We don’t have to shimmy around our beds and luggage to walk around the room or go to the bathroom. Because there is enough space to live and exist, you can walk upright unhindered, and really enjoy the room without bumping into anything because the room functions actually the way it was designed to be used. The room itself is chic and beautiful. The entire room has dark wood floors and much of the custom furniture is made of the same. We have 2 super comfortable queen sized beds a large window, and a kitchenette. One of the things I love most is being able to make myself tea in the evening with a proper super clean hot water pot. The marble bath isn’t big- but it is really nice and clean and has C.O. Bigelow Pharmacy products throughout, as well as cushy bathrobes and comfy bedroom slippers.
In case you need it- there is space for your glam squad. You don’t actually have use your bed as a staging/seating area for anything. There are sensible, appropriate height chairs, a beautiful small glass dining table, plenty of outlets, and space to maneuver.
Another plus is that the 6 train is literally right outside of the hotel, and the next stop is 42nd Street where you can connect through to pretty much every train line.
This is our new favorite spot we will be returning to on the regular! In case you are checking out the hotels in this area, we also tried the Mondrian which is a block away and it did not hold a candle in any way to The Marmara.
