This was my first (and certainly not last) visit to this gorgeous, new, hotel. It was lovingly built to keep the spirit of Taos Ski Valley and every aspect of the construction process was planned to meet LEED green building standards. Every interior detail was lovingly planned to reflect the rich cultural heritage of Taos and northern New Mexico. I particularly enjoyed the antique Navajo textiles and old paintings, no doubt painted long ago by many of the artists that have made Taos so renowned as an art colony.
The wonderful 192 restaurant and bar are conveniently located on the second floor. I didn't visit the first floor but it features a spa, workout area, and indoor swimming pool which I can assume are as well thought out and executed as all I saw on the floors above.
Last, but certainly not least, I must say that what made my visit the most enjoyable was the staff. At every turn someone was checking to make sure I had all that I needed to ensure my visit was the best. Their enthusiasm for helping and working in such a beautiful place truly radiated throughout and I found myself missing them when I had to leave.
