After a while, you might forget the Pioneer Park Inn is in the middle of Fairbanks. It sits in a quiet wooded area at a bend in the Chena River, surrounded only by trees and water. Ideal for a family of four or five are the standard rooms with two queen beds and space for a rollaway for crib. Every room includes a refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker, while a few come with a fireplace. Kids will love the heated indoor pool, the largest of any hotel in town. Other amenities include free Wi-Fi, a fitness center and free breakfast.
The Inn’s seemingly secluded location is only minutes from one of the main attractions in Fairbanks. Follow a gravel path through the woods and onto a footbridge across the Chena River, and you’ll find yourself at Pioneer Park, the city-owned theme park that highlights the history and culture of the area. Kids will love the small-scale trains, the authentic buildings of a gold rush town, and the miniature golf course. There are also theaters, restaurants and shops. It’s a wonderful place to spend a day or two. Other attractions in the area include river cruises, city tours, a wildlife refuge and hiking trails. With its spacious rooms, indoor pool and quiet location, The BEST WESTERN PLUS Pioneer Park Inn is the perfect place to enjoy your family vacation in Fairbanks.

We thought we had a nice stay at the hotel, the employees were very friendly when we checked in, and we even checked in early. Everything was fine until we got home and noticed an unusual charge on our credit card for $13.05. not a big sum so wasn't too worried. We checked in on Saturday 9 November and checked out on 10 November. We only went to Fairbanks to mail our Christmas cards from North pole. So today Monday November we were hit with a bunch of charges for $108.00 plus. My wife called them and was told by "Grace" that there were a lot of damages to the room, including ink stains on the sheets, orange stains on the sheets and towels. A. I didn't even bring a pen to Fairbanks and our Christmas cards were filled out by my wife a weeks before we went there. All we did in the room was sit at the desk and wet the envelopes. We even went out of our way to bring in shopping bags to stuff our trash into because the trash can was tiny! I have stayed at hundreds and hundreds of hotels in the last 52 years and I have NEVER made a mess or damaged ANYTHING! All I can guess is they figure they are so remote they can scam us without us going back up there. My wife was told that the manager was not in and we should call back in the morning. I had her tell them to have the manager call me as soon as he gets in. she was told "he is busy and won't have time to call you". I don't know why Best Western is scamming people like this but I am PISSED OFF!!! Please stay away from this hotel for your own sake. I will post the outcome when there is one.

Wonderful time. Clean and comfortable. Good hot breakfast and 24/7 coffee service. Staff was very friendly and helpful with things to do and places to go. The ladies who do the breakfast did a very good job and kept things replenished and clean
