Grand Highland Hotel has a very long history. The two-story Grand Saloon & Hotel building opened in 1903. One hundred ten years later, a second fire in May 2012, led to the rebirth of The Grand Highland Hotel that now offers a dozen historically-themed rooms, each complete with a private bathroom. All guests enjoy a daily buffet style continental breakfast. If you need to get going early, the staff will gladly provide an early bird breakfast to you. And check for the complimentary cookie platter, fruit infused water, coffee, hot chocolate or tea service in the main area.

there's a reason why this hotel gets 5 stars from everyone- or really, lotsa' reasons. Firstly- understand what it is. It's an old historic hotel in central downtown. So- the rooms are smallish, the shower is a curtained claw foot tub, the door keys are old fashioned, and there's no elevator. But- if this is what you're looking for- it's spot on. I loved how so many touches and details were taken care of. The amenity products (soap/shampoo) were of good quality. The bathroom fixtures just reeked of the highest quality feel. Excellent linens (although the bed was a bit soft for my taste) The venetian plaster wall finishes were artistically done, along with a faux worn look of the doors and such. Everything was spotless. You can see and feel the care that was taken in the remodel and design of this hotel- it feels like a special place. Plus- it's right in the middle of everything in town.
A simple breakfast brought to your room. Coffee/tea service always available and cookies!
Stay here.

I’ve stayed in lots of different properties on my worldly travels but this hotel goes into my top ten. Whilst not the usual run of the mill hotel with clinical rooms. This charming, historical hotel is great. The staff very very professional, welcoming and helpful. The rooms each individually named, we stayed in the Prospectors room have been decorated fabulously with a comfortable king size bed. The room maybe a little compact for some travellers but we loved our air con and ceiling fan in the room as it was a very hot day. The bathroom though was super with a stand alone tub and quality complimentary toiletries. We ordered breakfast the night before and it was served on time in the room next morning. There was cookies, coffee and iced water available on nearby landing The room also had several modern amenities iPod dock, cable tv and excellent WiFi. Location was on the historic Whiskey Row in easy walking distance of downtown Prescott’s restaurant and bars.
The only thing to bear in mind all floors are up on the second for and there is no elevator. Also parking is in the street outside and although there are free hours overnight, they charge from 10am.
