Located right on the beach in Naples and a 45-minute drive from Fort Myers Airport, the Vanderbilt Beach Resort in Naples is a good bet for an oceanfront family vacation. Suites are spacious and have fully equipped kitchens and partitioned sleeping areas. Luxury bedding and free high-speed Wi-Fi are among the in-room amenities. A free breakfast is served up daily and there’s also an onsite restaurant offering lunch and dinner. The heated outdoor pool is surrounded by lounge chairs for sunbathing and the beach is right out the door. The hotel provides umbrellas, chairs and beach towels, too. The dining and shopping of Fifth Avenue, downtown Naples’ main drag, is a short drive away, and other area attractions include fishing charters, dolphin-sighting boat trips, a good zoo and more.

I'm just back from my first stay at the resort, a three-day visit with my mom and sister. It was fabulous in every way, but first and foremost because the staff is friendly, attentive, and ready to help however they can. The property is lovely, casual, and right on the beach. I highly recommend Vanderbilt as a great place for R&R with old-fashioned charm and modern amenities.

My wife and I went to Naples for a friend's wedding and chose to stay at this hotel, as it was only a couple properties away from the wedding venue. The hotel lobby is not staffed 24 hours a day but the employees made it really easy to get our room keys and check in due to our late arrival. Once in our room, we were very suprised. The rooms had full fridges, and mini-kitchen set ups, making it great to cook or re-heat anything we brough back. The room was very clean but I was sort of disappointed with the two twin beds. My wife and I crammed into one the first night but then did the Bert and Ernie thing, splitting up, so we could get some good sleep. The beds themselves were relatively comfortable and the room was extremely clean. The hotel had a bar/resteraunt attached to it named the Turtle Club. This made eating and drinking convenient. The food at this location was very good and they had a good selection of local brews on tap. The entire property was very clean and orderly. If you are a travelor with high standards, this property would definately suit you well.
The property had a pool on it and beach access. The pool looked very clean but we never went into it. Being from Chicago, we can swim in pools any time. Its the ocean we came for. The only issue with the pool was that it closed at sunset, which was very early. It would have been nice to take a dip and hang out with our other friends that came to the wedding, after dinner but this wasn't an option.
The beach itself was nice and clean, however there were millions of shells along the sand and in the edge of the water, making it painful to walk on at times. The water was nice and warm and we were very happy that we were able to enjoy the Gulf before having to head back to cold Chicago.
Besides the Turtle Club, there were several resteraunts within walking distance. This made it nice since we did not have a car and didn't want to Uber it everywhere.
Overall, I would definately stay at this hotel again, but would ask for a larger bed. The place was absolutely spotless, which is a plus when traveling. The beach was nice but there is nothing the hotel could do about mother nature and all the shells but a crummy day in Naples is always better than a great day in Chicago.
