Overview

These comfortable cabins are lined up along the babbling Carlo Creek, inviting you to sit down in one of the Adirondack chairs on your private deck and let the stress melt away like the nearby glaciers. The large, one-room Family Cabin is perfect for those that want a little more space. It contains two queen size beds, one full bed, private bath with shower, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, refrigerator and free Wi-Fi. The Creekside Cafe, the onsite restaurant, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cafe specializes in homemade comfort foods like chicken pot pie, meatloaf and apple pie. If you’d like to BBQ, the creekside covered pavilion is ready for guests. Or, you can walk across the street to the pizza place.
The entrance to Denali National Park is 14 miles away. In about 20 minutes, you can be boarding a wildlife safari bus, signing up for a rafting trip down the Nenana River, or starting off on a ranger-led nature hike. There are easy to moderate trails all around your cabins, just ask your hosts and they’ll point the way. They will also help you book any tours and excursions, and many of those companies will pick you up at your cabin. With its peaceful creekside location and family-friendly cabin, the McKinley Creekside Cabins is an ideal choice for your family adventure in Denali National Park.

We stayed in one of the Lodge rooms as those rooms had King beds. Nice spacious room, with a covered balcony. I would recommend the Queen cottages as they are on the river. This would be a great stay for someone wanting to be away from the hustle bustle near the Denali entrance. You would want to have a car for this location. Food in the cafe was delicious, had a late lunch upon our arrival, and ordered lunch for our bus tour into Denali and this was very convenient as there is not any food or drink once you get on the bus and journey into the heart of the park. If you are looking for a fancier resort with more upscale amenities, there are those options in town. The Princess Resort is nice and there are other options. I would stay here again as we enjoy seclusion, nice to have good food on site, everyone was very friendly. I would definitely go back here for the privacy and the location on the creek (but worth the smaller bed and my hubby is 6'3 so he prefers the bigger bed- but we agree the location on the creek make the Queen cottages the way to go).

We enjoyed our stay at McKinley Creekside Cabins. It was a great location for our visit to Denali National Park. Our cabin had everything we needed including great coffee, microwave and small refrigerator.
