One of the most family-friendly accommodations on the Kenai coast, these luxurious suites are richly decorated in Alaska and ocean themes. The Volcanoes View Suite is ideal for a big family. It features a master bedroom with a king bed, plus two queen sleeper sofas and a twin sleeper sofa. More than that, however, it gives you the chance to really spread out for a long stay. Kids will love the downstairs game room, stocked with board games, card table, video game console and DVD player. Upstairs is a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker and all the dishes you’ll need to prepare family meals. The huge living room windows look out on the ocean, the Ninilchik River, and five volcanoes in the distance.
The Alaska Adventure Suites are located in the popular tourist town of Ninilchik, an early Russian settlement in the 1800s, about 30 miles north of Homer. The historic old village, and its iconic Russian Orthodox church, is right outside the back door of your suite. You can join a walking tour, or explore on your own, to learn about old-time Alaska. There are plenty of family-friendly activities near your suite. Kids will love digging for clams on the nearby beaches, fishing and hiking along the banks of the Ninilchik River, and watching fishermen unload their catches of salmon and halibut at the local dock. Wildlife is abundant here, and you’ll see brown bears, bald eagles, moose, sea otters and walrus around the mouth of the river. There are several nice restaurants in town. For groceries, stop in at the Ninilchik General Store, which also serves up the best ice cream around.

My family and I have stayed at Alaska Adventure Suites for five years in a row now. We go every year in August or September and it's just wonderful; it's truly one of the highlights of our summer. We've stayed in both sides and prefer the larger side as it has much more space and has incredible views of the inlet. The place is always clean and has a well-stocked kitchen for all of your cooking needs. It's also decorated with a lot of beautiful Alaskan art and artifacts. The house is located right in Ninilchik village, within walking distance of the beach. In years past we've gone clamming on the beach when the tide is out, which is a lot of fun and this year we're trying our hand at halibut fishing. Alaska Adventure Suites is in a great location for these and many other seasonal activities, and about a 45 min drive from Homer. I highly recommend staying here if you get the chance. It has a charm that keeps drawing you back.

We stayed here in August for 3 nights while halibut fishing in Ninilchik. I stumbled upon the suites through a Google search, and so glad that I did! We had a huge 2 floor cottage style apartment to ourselves. The living area is huge, with a nice kitchen and full dining area. Nice bedroom as well. The bathroom was fine. The first floor was another living area with a pool-out bed; one of out friends stayed here. We were so comfortable, and on top of that we had amazing views of the volcanoes. There is only one other apartment in the cottage.
The suites are tucked away off the main road in a little quite street with a few other houses. It was quite cozy. The drive to where our other friends were staying (and where our fishing captain's company was located) was only 5 minutes away. Homer is also only a 45 minutes drive away, it's definitely something to do when staying in Ninilchik, the drive is really nice and there are more dining options and things to do.
