Overview

It stands to reason that one of the premier ski resorts in New England should have an outsized hotel to match. Even without the ski slopes nearby, Attitash Grand Summit Hotel is one of the most luxurious lodgings in the White Mountains, with 143 guestrooms in a range of sizes, including double rooms with a pullout couch and one- , two- and three-bedroom suites with up to 1,400 square feet of space. All rooms include an LCD TV and DVD player, and many have full kitchens and balconies with a view of the mountain.

Of course, what good is staring at the slopes if you can’t get out on them; the resort offers a variety of packages that include a lift ticket good for Attitash, as well as its sister property Wildcat, and guests can ski out onto the trails right from the resort or take a free shuttle to the base lodge. The resort also boasts a fitness center, game room, indoor sauna, outdoor hot tub,and swim-out heated outdoor pool that stays toasty even in the middle of winter. (It’s always a big hit with kids to swim while snowflakes spiral down from the sky.) There are also two in-house dining options: a casual pub and a more upscale steakhouse.

Reviews

Beautiful hotel, in a beautiful setting!

by Christine B

My friend and I stayed at the Grand Summit on a New England road trip during "leaf peeping" season. The mountain setting, with Fall foliage in full show, was stunning. Our rooms had balconies, which helped us appreciate the view.
Rooms were large, very well appointed, and modern.
We were struck by how friendly all the staff were; everyone worked hard to make our stay an enjoyable one.
We dined all three nights at Tap House, onsite. The food was very good. Service is a little slow, but overall, we were very pleased with it, especially given it has been open only a few months. We enjoyed casual breakfasts at the cafe on the second floor.
The location of the hotel was great for sightseeing, including driving from Bartlett to Lincoln, on Bear Notch Road - great foliage! We enjoyed the view from Cathedral Ledge, and highly recommend the Conway Scenic Railroad.
The hotel offers free valet parking, if you return to the hotel at night, to ensure guests' safety, as apparently bears roam around the car park. Coming from the Southern Hemisphere, we rather hoped to see bears, but we ended up being in the hotel before dark each night!
This was a lovely hotel to stay at; highly recommended.

Nice hotel in a good location for mountain access

We visited the Grand Summit outside of the ski season so was a little quieter. The rooms are well laid out with kitchenettes and fridge etc so you have everything you might need to cook for yourself (apart from a local grocery store that you’ll need to go on a 20 minute drive to).
The outdoor hot tub and pools were a great attraction and lovely to site in when cold outside. The locker rooms are a bit run down and you need your own padlock for the lockers, which obviously you may not have on holiday.
The restaurant on site had been recently refurbished so you can get food on site, but beware it is small for the size of the hotel so you might struggle at peak hours and season. The food was ok
