Had a reservation for Saturday of Columbus day weekend. When we arrived at 630 pm, we were told that despite the fact that we had a valid confirmation number for a reservation we had for 2 months, our room had been given to someone else. Desk employee claimed that she had called us twice and when we didn’t answer, she cancelled the reservation. No voicemail was left, and cell reception was spotty in the area, so we never got the calls. Unfortunately, they refused us a room and there were no available rooms for 300 miles, so we were forced to drive 2.5 hours home and cut our trip short.

I have stayed at this hotel a total of 3 times and this last time was very disappointing. On my previous visits I found the hotel charming. In need of updating, but my room was always clean and the breakfast extensive and hot. For the most recent trip in October 2019, I booked the hotel in January. When I arrived they put me in the outer building and when I walked into the room there were cobwebs on the ceiling as well as small bugs. I asked to be moved into the main building, but they said they didn't have a room for me there. This was frustrating as I booked and pre-paid months in advance. The bed was comfortable but the room desperately needs updating and a major carpet cleaning. My husband who isn't as picky as I am about cleanliness even noticed it how disgustingly dirty it was. The location is great, it is close to King Arthur Flour and Dartmouth College. However, next time I will pay a little more and stay somewhere else more updated. This place has gotten to run down for me.
