Overview

Located near the Roanoke Civic Center, this hotel is near plenty of parks and greenway trails among the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Mill Mountain Zoo and Hollins University are also not far away from this hotel. After a day of exploring, families can head back to the hotel and enjoy some quality time by the indoor heated pool. The kids can swim and splash while the adults can put their feet up on the surrounding pool deck chairs and relax. The guestrooms feature a king or two queen beds, a coffee maker, microwave and mini-fridge. Additionally, the spacious suites feature a separate living room area with a sleeper sofa. Some of the suites can sleep up to six people comfortably. Complimentary Wi-Fi access can be found throughout the hotel so there is never a concern for kids or adults about staying connected to work, home or school. A free airport shuttle is available to guests as well.

Poor house keeping

This was our 1st visit to a Springhill Suites property and if this example is any indication will be our last.
The main issue was cleanliness, or lack of. Upon our arrival we found the bathroom floor dirty, the shower walls had areas of mold, there was a hair behind the toilet seat and the toilet tank leaked when flushed causing a puddle on the floor. There was also a dried spill on the nite table next to the bed which we cleaned ourselves. Since we arrived fairly late we didn't report any of the above to the desk, except the leaky toilet the following day.
The room itself was nicely arranged and the bed was comfortable enough. The front desk staff were very nice and the bar/kitchen were still open on our arrival so we had a late snack and drink or two. The gentleman behind the bar was very nice, I'm sorry we didn't get his name.
The property is located a bit further from I 81 than I thought and in a kind of out of the way area. I think we'd need a lot of convincing to try a Springhill property again.

My family of 5 stayed here for 2 nights and had my parents stay here as well with us in an adjoining room. We had a fantastic stay. Everything feels new and updated. The rooms are spacious and clean. The buffet was fresh and well stocked. Fresh foods were brought out regularly. The beds were comfortable. It was really quiet. We travel a lot, having family all over the place and this is definitely one of my favorite hotel stays so far.

We were here for a wedding and used the complimentary shuttle to get back and forth downtown to avoid having to find parking. It was so easy and reliable. We would definitely stay here again!
