I just returned from a wonderful two-night stay at BijBlauw hotel. Here are my impressions:
EXCELLENT:
—Room 9: I decided to splurge and booked the signature double room with the sea view, and am so glad I did! The room is located in the far back of the (green) building on the second floor, with a fantastic (!) patio overlooking the sea. The furnishings in and out are seaside rustic to go with the building, yet comfortable, with high ceilings (with fans) and wall-mounted A/C that worked extremely well. Nice bathroom, plenty of storage space, and two room entrances (through main building, or down private stairs off patio.) Light sleepers or those who like to go to bed early may have trouble with the noise from the restaurant below, but I am neither so not a problem for me in the least. (Note: the king bed consists of two smaller mattresses together, so avoid sleeping in the groove.)
—Location: If you want to be very close to the historic core of Willemstad, while staying in the hip and regenerating Pietermaai district, BijBlauw is perfect. Lots of things to see on foot, good restaurants (including in the hotel), and a perfect location immediately on the water! (Note: there is no close beach access, if that’s what you’re looking for.)
—Staff: Very polite and made you feel welcome. From checkin/out, to the restaurant (and bartender), to housekeeping, all were very pleasant and helpful. (Note: reception closes at 7:00, but with restaurant open later, it never felt insecure.)
Overall I had a wonderful stay at BijBlauw, and will certainly return again (to same room as well) on my next trip to Curacao.

Loved this charming hotel. It was totally unexpected that restaurant would be outstanding. Breakfast was so good especially the home-?made yougurt , only place on island that has such delicious yougurt. Chef - fantastic! Also had dinner, watched the sunset. And had the pleasure of a server named JANE who was great!!!
