Overview
by Jeff Bogle
Lonesome Cove sits at the northend of San Juan Island on the banks of Spieden Channel and consists of five cozy beachfront log cabins, a waterfront Boathouse and an apartment, all of which have a view of the channel, wildlife and the sunset. All include fresh linens and bath towels upon arrival (although the resort doesn’t offer laundry or housekeeping). The cabins are steps from the water, and four of them have a full kitchen with dishes and basic cookware and an old-fashioned percolator for brewing coffee. There’s also a private bedroom, private bath, fireplace, and a living room with a futon for a maximum of four guests total.

I appreciated these cabins right on the water. Accommodations are very adequate with plumbing and electricity. The furnishings are dated but still in good shape and functional. This is a genuine solitude for reading, nature-watching, relaxation. We bring our groceries and wine, and just unwind at our own pace.

Started every morning with hot chocolate on the deck and ended every evening with a glass of wine enjoying the amazing sunsets over the water. Between the welcoming hosts, library full of books and games, fireplace in our cabin, and the amazing views I couldn't have asked for more. Can see why people come back year after year.
