To start, there is not a way to have a bad time in Cabo!
The VDP is a very nice resort for the price. It is a bit dated, but maintained and clean. The pool area is beautiful, and the views are gorgeous with Lands End in the back drop. The 2 pools are a tad small and seating is limited so get up early to save seats. We had excellent service by the pool with Marcos and Alejandro! Even when we weren't in Alejandro's area and he could tell we were getting less than good service he came to the rescue.
The food here is superb! The Taco bar was under remodle when we stayed, so it and the sushi bar shared the same area during the day and they turned into the Carbon Grille restaurant at night. We received the best service of our trip from Pedro that worked at these places. He not only makes sure that you have a great dinning experience, but is an wonderful man and we were very lucky to have met him. The Bella California serves as the breakfast buffet in the mornings with a made to order omlette bar, and turns into a Italian restaurant in the evening with exceptional food, sevice, and presentation. We also are big Seahawks fans and had quite a large group down there for the game, which Andres in the Sports bar took amazing care of us, especially since he is a Hawks fan himself!
Some of the things that I found not so appealing were the little things. We spent a good amount of money on this resort not to feel like we were staying at a place that needs to nickle and dime you for everything. We did the all inclusive and needed to sign for everything. you only get complimentary coffee in your room 1 morning (we stayed 7), which makes you get up and ready before 7 if you want it out of the lobby, or you can buy it at there market place acrossed from the entrance and use there coffee makers in the room. I personally like to wake up and sit out on the deck enjoying the sunrise with a cup of coffee. There is no water in the rooms and you need to sign for a bottle of water if you want one. Which means you would have to buy it if you were not all inclusive. I needed some matches to have a vacation cigar in the evening on the deck with my Don Julio, the front desk doesn't have any but pointed out that the market place has them for sale. Not to sound petty, but I am sure that Motel 6 in the states even has coffee in the rooms and a book of matches with there name on them?. That being said it wasn't big enough to complain about, but when the the concierge Roberto stop and talked with us at the pool, he asked if there was anything he could do for us, we mentioned coffee and we had it in our room the last 2 mornings! This man wears many hats at this resort and is to be applauded! We also told him of our interest in parasailing and he set us up with a outfit with a very good price. We could not have been happier.
All being said, we had a fabulous time and the staff at the VDP are the reason why.
Thank you!!

Everything about this vacation was in my top 5 ever. Food, staff, accommodation. We were treated like royalty. The answer is always yes! Our pickle ball court was set every morning. The massage at Desert Spa was hands down the best I have ever had, coming from a spa addict, that is quite the compliment. El Patron food and hospitality was beyond compare. Above and beyond is the standard. Elizabeth and Oswaldo @ the pool! Johana in concierge! Adan, deliverer of every wish! This trip will be an annual must do!
