Originally we chose Sea Haven because they allowed pets. Five year later, even without our beloved pet, we chose to go back on our trip celebrating our anniversary. We appreciated the very efficient use of space of our room, all at a good price. If you plan to do some cooking, heating of food, or just want a full size refrigerator, stove and microwave with pots, pans, dishes and glasses, you couldn't ask for a better set up, all very clean. The kitchen and counter top island layout made for a practical use of space. If you plan to cook crabs or do outdoor grilling, there is a picnic area with a table, boiling pot and a barbecue.
The interior was pleasantly decorated in a seaside motif. The futon couch was great to sit and watch the World Series on the television. There was also a small tv in the bedroom with a comfortable bed. There's not a lot of floor space in the bedroom of our unit, but we took one of the stools from the storage above the bedroom and it was a perfect night table. The owners are very generous in the availability of towels (with a hamper in the bathroom!)
Maureen, one of the owners, was there to make sure we were all set for the night. She greeted us warmly as you would old friends and even had fresh flowers and a congratulations sign for our 30th anniversary celebration! She was very helpful in recommending some of the attractions in the area. We highly recommend the Sea Haven Motel for a great place to stay in Rockaway Beach.
