Dating back to 1912, this historic lodge in Ashford, Washington is a destination location for weddings and reunions. But with large multi-bed rooms and two houses with all the amenities families want — from space to kitchens to laundry facilities — it is the ideal accommodation choice when visiting Ashford, Mt. Rainer and Mount St. Helens.
Families will be excited to stay in a lodge once frequented by Teddy Roosevelt; it features a trout feeding activity for kids and those who are kids at heart at the picturesque onsite pond. The restaurant at Alexander’s Lodge serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, meaning you and your family can relax in the tranquil setting without having to venture out for food.

I stayed here for 3 nights while touring Mt. Rainier National Park and stayed in their Wonderland Forest retreat set away from the main building in the nearby forest. There must be wildlife that visit at night because at the foot of my patio there were always foot prints in the morning and I assumed they were deer. The suite was large, the bed comfortable and breakfast was taken in the main building which was across a meadow. Parking was next to my building and free. The main building has some interesting features such as a waterwheel, a large pond in the back with outdoor lounge chairs and a fire pit, and open grassy area where one cold play football. This was a good place to stay while visiting Mt. Rainier.
