Overview

A throwback of a motel in the heart of Ashland, this 1940’s-era roadside beauty is nestled in a quiet garden environment, but within walking distance of The Plaza, restaurants and the Shakespeare Festival. Seven of the Manor Motel’s twelve rooms feature full kitchens; the others have mini-refrigerators, microwaves and coffeemakers. The Manor has a shaded picnic area with tables and chairs, and free Wi-Fi and air-conditioning in all rooms, many of which include two beds to accommodate a young family of four. Others offer a separate room for the kids, providing a little extra privacy for mom and dad. For the budget-conscience family who enjoys retro things, this darling old-fashioned motel tucked into a residential area checks nearly every box.

Sweet, accommodating, comfortable

My wife and I were coming to Ashlan for plays. We were looking for inexpensive motels. We need ia place to park our small 16' trailer. The manager, Dee, said that she thought she had a place that would fit our trailer, but in case it didn't fit, she walk the nearby streets to confirm there was no parking limit if we had to park our trailer on the street. When we got there for an early check in, she was very welcoming and gave as an upgraded Room. The new housekeeper, Vanessa, was also very friendly and cheerful.

It is a quaint 1940 ish era motel. Our room was updated to modern décor and very comfortable. The grounds are well kept, with nice garden sitting area. It is an easy 1/2 mile walk to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. We had a delightful time.

Hotel Manager completely lacks sympathy and problem solving skills.

My parents booked a room here through hotels.com for two nights (had an email confirmation). We were informed that the hotel only had them booked for one night and needed my parents to vacate. My father is disabled, and our flight back to LA wasn’t until the next morning. We were working with the hotel manager, who did apologize several times and could see our frustration about the matter; however, I did not feel that she was being genuine and didn’t really take the mix up seriously. She was only concerned with defending herself and her establishment, and almost trying to make us feel guilty by booking through a third party. I do agree that hotels.com is to blame in part; however, this should have been confirmed at the check in process as opposed to checkout. The manager did try to make arrangements with the staff to try to get us a room, but I was not happy with her overall demeanor and attitude so I booked a much more comfortable hotel in Medford right by the airport. I understand that it’s a glitch and accidents happen and she mentioned it’s happened several times this week; despite that, it is her responsibility to reach out to third party booking websites and complain when they are overbooking their property. My parents are older and my dad has limited mobility, this was a very difficult for him to pick up and move to a different town. You need to establish solid and timely problem solving skills if you want to ensure guest satisfaction.
