The most positive aspect of my stay at this hotel, was the customer service. Staff were welcoming and helpful, particularly since I had kit been to Nova Scotia and didn’t know where anything was. If that were the only thing to base my review in, i would return to this hotel in a heartbeat.
I had a room on a lower floor, and it was apparent from the moment I walked in that the room was a serious need of renovation. The decor was outdated and felt a bit uncomfortable to sit in. The tub stopper was broken and lying in the floor of the bathtub. There was mild on the shower wall, and the carpet in the hallway on a few floors was buckling and looked as though one could trip in it, if not careful.
I had breakfast in the restaurant and it was quite good, and some of the staff there were also quite friendly.
I would not be able to recommend this hotel for anyone that wants to feel comfortable and relaxed during their time away from home.

I've read the reviews about this hotel prior to booking this place, including all the negative ones. Some say it's old and showing its age, some say it's dirty and looking run down, etc, etc. But I still took a chance with. I must say: I was so impressed as soon as I walked into the lobby and into my room for the first time how NICE, modern, clean, and chic-looking this place is!! I must have come at a good weekend for them, but I have found zero evidence of the negative things people complained about this hotel. Amazing view of the city, everything is in walking distance (I barely had to use my rental car), the room and bed was cozy and comfy, and the staff were courteous, polite, and professional. I stayed there for 3 nights, I wish I could have stayed longer. I would definitely go back here again!! Pro tip: if you wanna park but don't really wanna pay for the parking, park across the street at Parker St for free, except on Thursdays (street cleaning).
