We spoiled ourselves with a night in the gorgeous Hotel along the beautiful San Antonio Riverwalk. Everyone was so helpful and courteous. The decor was upscale, lovely and very comfortable. We were right on the Riverwalk so the access to shopping was perfect and I was so happy to get in a couple of treatments at the Mokara Spa.

I have stayed here dozens of times the past 3 years or so, and realized I have never left a review. I suppose it’s because I’ve never had a complaint, which usually prompts me to leave a review.
This is the best hotel in San Antonio. I travel to San Antonio about 20 times a year and have stayed at all of the nice ones. I would stay here all the time but sometimes I need to be in a different part of the city, or they’re booked. Otherwise, I’ve stayed at La Cantera, St. Anthony, Elian, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Hill Country, and a couple of others. They are all nice, but I’ve had a major complaint at all of them, except for the Mokara.
It reminds me of the Continental from the John Wick movies. Small, classy, clean, supremely efficient, and everyone is extremely formal (in that great old school way that hotels use to do, but don’t anymore). It has the best Spa in the city (La Cantera Spa is also very nice, but I like the Mokara better). The hotel is intimate, the rooms all feel like suites with whirlpool baths and four post beds, it’s extremely family friendly, but also business friendly, and very quiet. The room service lady in the morning always asks about my kids whenever I don’t bring them, and even remembered one of their names. It’s also right in the middle of the Riverwalk with cool bars and restaurants all around. The rooftop pool and gym are fantastic, and everyone greats me by name now that I have stayed so often. They know around what time I check out, and always have my car ready, out front, the day I’m checking out without having to call in advance.
It’s the equivalent of a 4 Seasons or St. Regis for comparison. If you’re heading to San Antonio any time soon, stay here. Especially around Christmas time. It has the coziest lobby with a huge fireplace and they really deck it out for the holidays.
I stay at nice hotels all over the world. This is up there with any other hotel I’ve ever stayed at, and the prices are usually pretty fantastic for what you get in return.
Keep up the good work Mokara.
