Overview

Located in the heart of downtown, Lord Elgin Hotel is an older, quaint hotel that offers a variety of extra services, including free Wi-Fi, Starbucks, a gift shop, fitness center, spa services, sauna, whirlpool and expansive lap pool. The onsite Grill 41 Restaurant and Bar provides breakfast (and breakfast buffet), lunch and dinner with a focus on locally sourced fare. The 355 rooms include mini-fridges in most rooms, as well as showers. Be sure to ask for a tub and a mini-fridge if you want these amenities. The Classic rooms come with one queen, two queens or one king. The Elgin Class Room features a king bed and a corner location for extra space and light. Two splurge suite options are available that include sitting areas, and one with a galley kitchen. Free cribs and rollaways for a fee are available. Kids 18 and younger stay free. Valet parking is available for an extra cost.

Very good service, average rooms.

I have been to this hotel 3 times for business trips (October 2018, Jan 2019, June 2019) and have never been disappointed. Good location and excellent customer service from check in to departure on most of my trips. The rooms are small, with TV and internet service that is sporadic at times. Room service choices were limited, but there is a fridge and a grocery store within walking distance that i was able to get snack and wine much cheaper than through the hotel. Try to get a room on the same side as the main entrance as that had the best view of all the rooms I had.
The fitness are is small as is the pool and the jacuzzi only worked on one of my trips.

Great location

The hotel itself was nice and also clean. The rooms were ok in size. The bathrooms were small and lacking counter space. Had one meal in the restaurant which was less than satisfactory. Staff was very pleasant.
