You can’t get much closer to the beach than staying at Anthony’s on the Beach. This cozy motel, built in 1958, is right next to the ocean. Walk just a few steps and you’ll soon be splashing in the warm water.
Located in the quiet, uncrowded south section of Cocoa Beach, families can enjoy a vacation outside of the hustle and bustle, but with plenty of sunshine and great restaurants only 10 minutes away. Wake up to a beautiful sunrise on the beach and go to sleep to the sound of gentle waves.
One and two bed hotel rooms and two-bedroom suites are available. Suites come with a refrigerator and microwave; however, cooking and eating utensils need to be requested.
Borrow a beach chair or boogie board. Go fishing or visit the pier. Port Canaveral, where many cruise ships depart, is close by. Kennedy Space Center is less than a half-hour drive. Disney World, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, MGM, Epcot Studios, Universal Studios and SeaWorld are an hour away.

This is an older style motel right on the beach. I was concerned when giving my room number as they seem to be unfinished building in evidence outside the room. the wall haden't been painted from where some remodeling was done. Imagine my surprise when I went into the room and so how lovely it had been remodeled . very modern. The location was perfect and I sat on the beach in a very handily placed swing and watched the ocean.
When I came to book out I was advised that they haven't completely finished the room but I wouldn't have known it. Charming

I am writing this review after Labor Day so as not to totally put a damper on their summer business because they do have a fantastic location right on the beach in South Cocoa Beach where it’s nice and quiet and beautiful. However someone needs to inform the owners that just because you have a perfect location does not mean that your hotel or motel is giving the customer what they think they’re getting when they book.
I booked this hotel because I used to live in the neighborhood and wanted to stay close to the old house. I’ve always heard it was a great place to stay back in the day. I did not realize that it had different owners. The pricing seemed right and the rooms looked good on the Internet. Upon first checking in I went into the office and was greeted and I use that term loosely by a tall sour man standing there with the stone face and attitude. ( I believe this may have been an owner or family member by his demeanor)Not once did he say welcome to our hotel for the first time - or any nicety - in fact he was almost irritated that I was checking in. Without many words I signed the paperwork and went to our room. Upon opening the door a disgusting kind of smell hit me. I’m not sure where it came from we’re thinking maybe the food trap in the sink in the bathroom. Anyway it might’ve been the water smell but the water smells so bad that I didn’t even want to brush my teeth with it. They need to get their plumbing looked at. The towels were so skimpy and they barely gave you enough for one and a half persons. There was a small fridge which was helpful and a microwave. The furnishings were very shabby even though they had recently painted. Still, you can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig. The overall feeling was unwelcoming and gave a cutting quarters type of vibe.
Pluses: They do offer free parking which is a plus. The beach is right outside the door and they have a great swing on the beach that you can sit in to look at the surf. This is what saves the hotel — it’s their location. If the motel was in land I doubt if they would have had many customers. The final straw was at check out. At exact check out time we had packed the car and I headed to the office to turn in my key. No one was in the office which I thought was odd since it was checkout time. All of a sudden this small nasty dog came leaping up from behind the tall desk and scared me to death. It was bearing its teeth and yapping loudly. Then the back door to the office opened and a woman came lazily out not apologizing whatsoever for the display. She also was very unfriendly. She told me that most people find her dog charming. Well I’m sure it is charming if she is standing there with it. But when she leaves it alone to guard the office and strange people come in, it obviously went into defense mode.
It left a horrible taste in our mouth between the smell of the room, the horrible sink water, the lack of simple amenities and tired/used up bedding, towels etc. and the very unfriendly staff we will not be returning here again. We checked out and went to the Hilton down on the same side of the street and it was only a few dollars more and the experience there was night/day.
Perhaps the owners could use a seminar in customer service.
