Hotel is very convenient to Proctor's Theatre and there are numerous restaurants nearby.
Our room was spotless and fresh. Toiletries and amenities were nice, with a large bathroom and a great shower.
Hotel has a nice pool and a fitness center with several workout machines.
Breakfast was good, with a nice selection of options including cut fruit and "make your own" waffles. Coffee is available in the lobby 24x7, a very nice touch!
We encountered a maintenance issue with an exit door during our stay that was being remedied when we left.
We would recommend this Hampton Inn property if you are in the Schenectady area and would stay there again ourselves.

This is a very nice hotel in the heart of downtown Schenectady next to proctors theater, the fine arts school at 440 state st, train station, bus routes, and lots of restaurants and shops. They have a free breakfast every morning in the main lobby with items such as bananas, yogurt, and bagels but the quality of the items is lower than what I expect at a diner or an upscale restaurant. The fruit is not very fresh, the oatmeal is made with water instead of milk, this is expected seeing as it is a free breakfast. The swimming pool only has the pool working, hot tub is permanently out of service maybe due to health inspection results? I'm visiting here with my aunt who is staying here and the room that she has here is very nice on the 5th floor with many electrical outlets, an ethernet cable and USB ports for getting work done on computers, phones, or tablets. Other than the quality and availability of breakfast items here and the out of service hot tub in the pool area, this is a great hotel in a great location!
