Let me start off by saying the staff here are extremely friendly, nothing but nice things to say about each and every one of them that we interacted with. Of special note was Andrew at the Concierge desk who gave an excellent historical tour and gave us a better appreciation of the history, charm, and character of the hotel.
Unfortunately, the rooms are not what I have come to expect from a higher end Marriott property. While vacationing with my wife and infant daughter, I used Suite Night Awards and was upgraded to an "Executive Suite, 2 King." We had high expectations for the room that were left unmet. While the room is nicely decorated, we'd consider it a fairly standard hotel room with a second king size bed and a loveseat tucked into the corner. Other Marriott properties I've stayed at offer what I would consider a true suite, which has a separate sitting room distinct from the bedroom as well as a second TV. This would've been much appreciated when traveling with our infant who has an earlier bedtime than my wife and I.
As long as you temper your expectations of a "suite" the hotel is a great option.
