Our room was very nice, with a balcony and a fireplace, jetted tub. Comfy beds. Separate shower from tub. I went to the spa, which was very nice and compared to other resorts and even free standing day spas, VERY reasonably priced. Clean, efficient and personable staff.
My husband and I ate at the restaurant which was pretty good - food was overpriced, the restaurant was very loud. Not particularly interesting
Breakfast was basic cereal, toast, etc., with some protein in the form of yogurt and hard-boiled eggs. It would have made me happier if they would have had kettle oatmeal, instead of packets...
Not much to do around Laconia in late October. We did a short hike at Ahern State Park. The lakes are pretty.

....would've been a good stay, if the heated pool were actually heated to code. Mgmt said it was, as an avid swimmer, familiar with indoor heated pools, it was at least 10° colder than state law AND body comfortability. The on-site restaurant was excellent. Fix the pool heater and you'd have a winner.
