Overview

This small English cottage-style property is located in Cazadero, California, in the heart of Sonoma County’s redwood forest area. Surrounded by lush forests, English gardens and water trickling over waterfalls and creeks, the property is a quiet and relaxing place in which to stay. Private cottages are available, such as the pet-friendly Lewis Carroll Cottage that can accommodate a family of four with a queen bedroom, sleeper sofa and rollaway bed. The Millpond Cottages provide more family-friendly options, such as the Creekside suite, which sleeps four. A full breakfast is served every morning in the inn’s main building, and from May through Thanksgiving, guests will also find a four-course dinner served nightly. The inn is located near Kidd Creek and River Road near Guerneville. Guests wanting to stay weekends May 1 through September 30 must stay a minimum two nights with a Saturday booking.

Just a lovely, romantic getaway in the Redwood Forest

by flamencomermaid2

Lovely old hunting lodge now serving as a BnB. Tucked away at the end of a dirt road in the forest. Friendly owner, accomplished playwright, has named each room after a famous author. Breakfast included, reasonable price compared to other chain hotels which were not so nearby.

Big trees, books and seclusion

Stayed a couple of days/nights at the end of June 2017 and enjoyed everything about it. This is a rustic location on a dirt road, surrounded by redwoods, and proved to be a fantastic place to get away from it all. A big bonus for me was the fantastic library and the breakfast discussions. The owners take a personal interest in their guests. As a writer, I enjoyed talking with the playwright-owner and should have paid extra for the writing tips I picked up.
Rooms are author-themed. We were in the Beatrice Potter room, so I re-read Peter Rabbit and re-engaged childhood stories, likely influences on my later literary interests..
The room was clean, quiet, clean-- had everything you could need. Antique, thoughtful themed decor. Dinner and breakfast were healthy and excellent. There's even a pool, though the cool weather when we were there didn't lure us in.
We'll go again!
