Built in 1875, this National Historic Landmark hotel is conveniently located in Lakeside Chautauqua along the shores of Ohio’s Lake Erie. Families will love seeing the history in the hotel’s antique furniture, wrap around porch and in the 79 guestrooms. The seasonal hotel is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and includes a complimentary continental breakfast and one parking space per room. The Victorian-style hotel is steps away from Lake Erie where kids can swim or kayak and an outdoor pool, which also features a kiddie pool.

Old hotel in very nice shape

I used to go to Lakeside as a child to my grandparent's cottage. Frankly at that time, we never noticed the Hotel Lakeside which has been here since 1875. But times change, the cottage is no longer in the family. But Lakeside is still a lovely place and this time we stayed at the Hotel. It was just past the season and quite empty. The very friendly receptionist, Abigail, took the time to show us a number of rooms and we settled on front view overlooking the lake. Room was pleasant and quiet. Ambiance of the front porch was perfect. The main reason I can't give it '5' is, like several other reviewers, the room in particular could have been considerably cleaner in terms of spider webs etc.

A beautiful area on the lake. Did not stay here and did not know it existed until one of the local shop owners bragged about Lakeside. A beautiful hotel and very reasonably priced meals. Possible place to stay in future.
