We've visited Casino Del Sol seven times in eight years. This year we noticed that the slot machines were very stingy. Usually you can play for several hours and at least breakeven, but this year wasn't fun. Sad as I doubt we'll be back.
The hotel is wonderful, especially if you're on the 10th floor (sky lounge) and overlook the pool. Rooms are clean and room service is quick. Virginia was our housekeeper; she was incredible!
Front desk/reception is very friendly and helpful -- always. If your room isn't ready when you arrive, they can store your bags, call you when your room is ready, and deliver your bags to your room. And, if you request any papers, they will hold them for you at the front desk so you don't miss out on the limited number of papers they receive daily.
Two problems with the room. Battery on in-room safe went out, so had to call down to get someone to open for us. Mom stored her meds in there and it was a bit stressful waiting for security to arrive and open. Second problem was that the coffee machine stopped working one morning and it took quite a while for them to get us a replacement.
I love the pool as it's always empty in November ... very relaxing and they'll bring you bottled water, too!
Great place to travel to with an elderly parent ... but disappointing slot machines.
