If you’ve slept in many a 3-star property, prepare for a jaw-dropping experience at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Charlotte/SouthPark. Nestled in the gorgeous Phillips Plaza – a mall layered in flowers, benches, fountains, and lampposts — this Hampton leaves you feeling like you strolled through a European village. Along with being in the Phillips Plaza, the property is also an easy walk to the exclusive SouthPark Mall, where you can let the kids lose themselves in the LEGO Store and the American Girl shop.
The Hampton’s public areas feature a large splashing fountain, brick-lined sidewalks and a soaring ceiling in the lobby.
Your guestroom includes a mini-fridge, microwave, complimentary Wi-Fi and a TV in the bathroom mirror (the only one of 2,100 Hamptons to boast this baby.) Suites feature a fireplace, a whirlpool, and kitchenette or balcony. The hot breakfast is complimentary and the small pool and outdoor whirlpool are a sight for sore eyes.
Dining spots at the Phillips Plaza include P.F. Chang’s China Bistro and Kitchen + Bar (Wolf Gang Puck’s newest featuring pizza, salads, and steak) At the SouthPark Mall, you’ll find the standard food court, plus a California Pizza Kitchen and Cheesecake Factory, among other dining spots.

The hotel itself is nice, but the staff wasn't to pleasant in helpful. O asked the girl from the front desk for toothpaste and toothbrush and before fully looking she said we don't have any, and before going on the elevator. I hear her ask the girl from the back did they have any in response to her was yes we do there in the back. She saw me leaving out I still didn't say anything about it.

This is the best Hampton Inn and would be hard to top by any similar chain hotel. The location is close to RDU and Charlotte's city center, but in a quiet neighborhood area. It is walking distance to a large, upscale mall and even a shorter walk to a string of stores down a shared blvd. There is a nearby Original Pancake House, Starbucks, Whole Foods, and french cafe. Oh, and the Palm is right outside the front door of the hotel, with a Wolfgang Puck a few more steps. The rooms were fresh and well done, and staff very attentive.
