This 132-suite hotel in a converted 1800s warehouse caters to families and small groups who want a little more room (up to 1,100 square feet) and to bring their own food and make use of the kitchenettes or kitchens here. It’s also pet-friendly. There is a daily breakfast buffet and an indoor pool, kiddie pool and hot tub. This hotel sits a block from the lakeshore and harbor, and while some upper-floor rooms may have water views, studio suites do not have exterior windows.

Hasn’t been updated in years. The king bed was laughable...12 inch drop to a hole in the middle. Both toilet seats were trashed, the lights are garishly appointed in the rooms (either too dark fluorescents or nuclear bright) and the general look and feel of the entrance is severely lacking.

We visit Duluth 1-3 times per year for family getaways and always stay at The Suites. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable; the location is perfect and the prices are fair. We love the pool and having Hoops Brewery steps from the hotel elevators. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.
