Perfectly situated in the heart of the east end town of Riverhead, the boutique Hotel Indigo is home to 100 chic, pet-friendly rooms, several of which have private terraces overlooking the gorgeous outdoor pool area. Onsite, guests can relax by the pool, luxuriate with a massage, or enjoy the farm-to-table fare at Bistro 72. Given that Riverhead is considered the gateway to Long Island’s bucolic North Fork, the Hotel Indigo is an ideal home base for exploring the area’s beautiful beaches, farms, and wineries.

We stayed here for a wedding at one of the wineries. The price was very high and the room was very basic. We were disappointed to have a room with two double beds, they apparently don’t have rooms with two queens. Would not recommend this hotel.

I’ve stayed at the indigo often. It has the nicest of outdoor pools, of all the area hotels, with a resort feel, though each time I visited, there was a problem with yellow jackets by the pool. It was quite annoying. It is a great escape from the city. Extremely quiet, with a fabulous restaurant. Love the music from the lounge area. Gives an elegant feel. Rooms are immaculate and quiet. Although hotel is off a main road, and a stone’s throw to the outlets, it is recessed off the road and very private. A nice country feel. I’ve read reviews where front staff is not at desk. I have experienced that also, but someone was always there to help me within 1 minute and they were always more than friendly and accommodating. The only reason I did not give five stars is that there is no counter space or shelf for toiletries in the bathroom. Also, the toilet seat is very low and difficult to rise from. grab bar would be helpful. also needed in shower. Seating in lobby very low also. Consideration should be given to the slightly older adults. It is a pet friendly hotel, which is not my favorite, but it is surprisingly clean despite the dogs.
