Overview
by Amanda Geronikos
Is it an art museum, or a hotel- or both? It’s hard to tell at this property — whose all-glass, misshaped exterior can’t be missed — in downtown Denver.
Opened in 2015, it is, indeed, a hotel, with art and artful décor and amenities at every turn. Artistic touches include everything from original wall paintings and statues to funky room furnishings and a colorful candy bar in the lobby.
And while the swanky hotel doesn’t often see kids, it offers kids’ menus at the onsite restaurant, cribs and baby amenities for little ones, and in-room mini-fridges (not wet bars) for storing snacks. Free Wi-Fi is also available.

Suites, of course, feature more space, including separate living areas with sofa beds, plus wet bars. They can sleep up to four guests. Suite options include the Atelier Suite (no substantial views), Museum View Suite and Mountain View Suite. The Capital Suite -- the best seat in the house -- overlooks Broadway.

We stayed at the Art for a few days while we visited the Monet Exhibit at the Denver Museum. Great location. Paul, the concierge, gave us such a warm welcome and explained where things were, what the hotel could do for us, etc. We had a great lunch and breakfast at their restaurant, The Fire, and the service was outstanding. The art displayed in the hotel itself is also fabulous. Be sure and pay attention to the art in each of the elevators. The hotel car even took us to our restaurant for dinner and picked us up afterwards. What a great stay!

We had a fabulous experience at this cool boutique hotel! Everything thing was perfect from great front desk/over-the-top concierge service, to our comfy well-equipped room with a spectacular view of the mountains. We used the valet parking ($40) and visited the Fire Restaurant and lounge for Happy hour and for breakfast. I loved this venue with floor to ceiling glass and again, striking views. The happy hour (3-6 daily) has some great values with $5 sliders and sharable plates, and drink specials including $4 pils, $ 6 wine of the days as well as some cocktail specials. There is a chic outdoor patio which would have been very inviting had it not snowed. The most unique and interesting aspects of this hotel are the architecture and art collection. Very unique! It is also stepping away from the Denver Art Museum and other fun venues in the Capitol area of Denver. We used the driver to drop us at dinner nearby which is also a nice feature. I would definitely recommend this property and would return!

FIRE is open 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. On Saturdays and Sundays, brunch is hosted from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
